Java-Water Crisis Management Seminar & Conservation Kagamahut

In a series of activities Anniversary 50th Reunion Gold and Faculty of Forestry, on August 27, 2013 has been implemented Java Region seminar with the theme “Forest Rescue Java”, took place at the Training Center Perhutanioffice Madison. Taking the same momentum, in a series of seminars in Madison the Java Region, on August 26, 2013 also carried KAGAMAHUT Conservation Board (UGM Alumni Forestry) of the Commissariat Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, and East Java by the Executive Committee KAGAMAHUT.

Java seminar in Madison Region is one of five (5) regions seminar conducted by the Faculty of Forestry together with KAGAMAHUT ( Family Alumni Forestry Gadjah Mada ) , namely Sumatra Region Seminar , Seminars Region Java , Borneo Region Seminar , Seminars Region Bali – Nusa Tenggara , and Sulawesi Region Seminar – Maluku-Papua .

Background determination of the seminar theme is based on the Java Region growing importance of the role of forests and forestry in Java . As the island is the center of industry , business center , the central Indonesian government , and most populous island in Indonesia – in 2010 inhabited 136.6 million ( ± 60 % of the total population of Indonesia ) – Java requires a variety of environmental services , such as the adequacy of water , clean air , recreational facilities and comforts of life . In this regard , the presence of forest resources Java has a vital role to maintain the balance of the ecosystem , providing a source of livelihood , energy security , food security and ensure the sustainable development of the island .

Hima ( Director of Social Forestry, Ministry of Forestry ) ; Dr. . Bambang Sukmananto ( Director of Perum Perhutani ) , Drs . Bambang Subiaktono ( Director of the National Police Tipinter ) , Ir . Anwar Abdullah Anas , MSi . ( Bupati of Banyuwangi ) , Dr . Arief Yuwono , MA . ( Deputy MenegLH field of Environmental Degradation Control and Climate Change ) ; Ir . Ambar Tjahjono ( ASMINDO ) ; Dr. . Suporahardjo ( NGOs ) and H. Siman ( business community forests Selopuro , Winton ) .

In his presentation Dr . Haryadi Hima said that the island of Java in the near future to face a very serious problem . According to his ” 10 years of Java will face water crisis ” . due to population growth . Therefore we need a forest management model that is able to overcome these problems .

While Ir . Anwar Abdullah ( Bupati of Banyuwangi ) said that so far most of the villages around the forest in Banyuwangi ( both forestry and forest areas of the National Park ) belongs to the category of poor villages . This condition needs to be a concern of all parties to reduce poverty in the villages around the forest . In regard to forests and forestry , Banyuwangi regency government will not exploit timber forest products yet to be developed for nature tourism with eco -tourism approach .
